The Young Veins

Panic At The Disco! guitarist takes center stage with new band and new sound.

Ryan Ross is best known as the lead guitarist, back-up vocalist, and main songwriter for his former band Panic At The Disco!. Now that PATD is in the past, Ross takes center stage and puts his talents on display as the frontman for The Young Veins. The retro rock band is definitely paces away from the sounds of his former band.

Panic At The Disco!'s last album, Pretty. Odd., was definitely reminicent of The Beatles and the same could be said of The Young Veins. Ross being the primary songwriter, everyone could see that his influences had definitely shifted. This with the inevitable break-up of the band spawned the west coast dreaming, retro rocking band. It can be seen that Ross feels comfortable with his new band and while they won't have a Top 40 hit anytime soon, they will definitely garner the respect that they deserve. Their debut album Take A Vacation! and they are currently touring with Rooney.

Check out their first single "Change" as well as their title track "Take A Vacation!"

I love this sound. I like the retro feel with modern lyrics. If Young Veins keeps this going they're easily going to be a permanent addition to my playlist.
