U.K. Electro-Duo Is Bringing Back The 80s.
Tune your radio to any Top 40 station and you are guaranteed to hear one of two things: commercials or La Roux. The English duo has infiltrated the Top 20 singles chart with their smash single "Bulletproof." La Roux, meaning red-haired, looks and sounds like they were cryogenically frozen in the 1980s and thawed yesterday to garner in the English-lead synthpop revolution.
La Roux is racking up impressive achievements with their self-titled debut album. Reaching #1 on Billboard's Heatseeker Albums, #2 on Billboard's Dance Albums chart, and #2 on U.K. Albums chart. Their first single "Bulletproof" is currently #21 on the Billboard's Hot 100.
With a confident, sassy tone and addictive synthesized hooks La Roux is poised for greatness. However, La Roux is no overnight sensation. They have had two singles in the U.K. "Quicksand" and "In For The Kill" that had limited success in the U.K., but with the global success of "Bulletproof" the sky is the limit for La Roux.
