Local Natives

Youthful and energetic, Local Natives hit the target with Gorilla Manor.

This band caused a massive buzz at SXSW, playing a whopping nine gigs in just four days. The recent release of debut album Gorilla Manor may have helped. Critics love these guys and I'm starting to get it, after a period of not really feeling it. Initial reviews of Local Natives have drawn favorable comparisons to Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes and Vampire Weekend.  Local Natives draw on the influences of Talking Heads and Simon and Garfunkel hence their covers of “Warning Sign” and “Cecelia” (Youtube) and the use of that brand of afro pop in their music.
