The Futuristic Grammy Nominated Band and "Spotlight"
Roy Mitchell-Cardenas leads the band. He went to college at Loyola, New Orleans then put the band Mute Math together. They broke up, he decided to go solo. He got married and spent a year in law school in Miami. He said he was taking a test one day and he had an “a-ha” moment and asked himself, "Why am I doing this?" He quit school, put the band back together and hit the road. He said, "It was just a van and a trailer. … People don’t really realize the hard work. It was three years of doing a lot of stuff that most wouldn’t want to be doing."
That was four years ago. Now they've got a Grammy nomination and they just made their second appearance on Letterman and this time David came over and shook their hands. They were also named Alternative Press’#1 band to see live before you die in 2009. You will have your chance to see them before you die, when they head on tour in April 2010! Check out a clip of their song "Spotlight."

These guys are great... saw them at the Wildflower Festival and they stole the night! Amazing in every form and fashion. Don't miss seeing them if you get the chance.
Pretty sure Paul Meany put the band together with the drummer... Paul is from Chalmette, La. (St. Bernard Parish)
