Inception The App

I’m Greg from Makes You Cooler Dot Com and this is a quick review of Inception The App that directly corresponds with the DVD release of the movie Inception.

At first, I didn’t really know what to think about this app and as a matter of fact, I am still not really sure what to think of this app. I don’t even know if I am awake. All I know is that I downloaded that app, plugged my headphones in and have been trippin for the past hour. Luckily I work in a little room that is kind of secluded from the rest of the staff, so no one has stopped by to wake me up or question what I am doing back here.

I cant even begin to explain what the point of this app is so I am going to rip the explanation off straight from the Inception App site.

“This app is a dream machine that transforms the world around you into a dreamworld. It uses augmented sound to induce dreams through the headset of your iPhone and iPod Touch. It will change your perception of reality. Inception The App transports Inception The Movie straight into your life. New dreams can be unlocked in many ways, for example by walking, being in a quiet room, while traveling or when the sun shines. Switch it on when you are out and about, at work or going to bed. The difference here is that this app mixes your acoustic reality with the soundtrack of Inception. The result is a realtime soundtrack to your life, or your dreams.”

Okay, so once you have the app installed, plug in your headphones and get started. You will find yourself sitting around tapping on the desk, talking to your self, holding the phone up to the speakers and wondering if you are starting to feel funny. I’m sure the last part is purely psychological because the brain is powerful and can make you think and feel strange things.

There are 9 levels of dreams that you can unlock. Reverie, Still, Action, Quiet, Sunshine, Sleep, Traveling, Africa and Limbo…You can go to www.inceptiontheapp.com to read reviews about each one of these dreams.

Again, I am not sure what the point of this app is because I am not gonna use it to actually go to sleep but at the same time I can’t turn it off. On a coolness factor, I will give it 4 out of 5 Snapps. Will it actually make you cooler? I don’t think so. It may actually make you a little less cooler because people will think you are crazy as you try to explain this app. So tell a friend about it but I would encourage you to play with it alone…
