Sky Grid - Its How You Get Your News

This is the second “reader app” that I have reviewed and I must say that this one is by far my favorite. It is stream lined and very easy to use. It is called SkyGrid and I love it. It is the easiest reader app that I have used to date and all of the day’s headlines are right there in your face. So there is no excuse to be behind on what’s happening in the world.

After you download it will ask for your location just like always. Hit okay and then proceed. It will start you off in the "Featured" section on the "What’s Hot" page that has all of the biggest headlines for the day/week. For example, you click on the top headline and it will open up an array of articles on that subject. You can choose from any of the articles and if it’s a headline that really tickles your fancy, you can follow that particular headline and continue to get all of the news and updates for that subject!

There are two more options for you when it comes to the headlines, “Most Viewed” and “Team Favorites” which seems to be the developer’s favorite things at the moment.

If you don’t see your favorite subject, you can hit the Follow Your Interests button, follow the instructions given by the little green guy and then type in whatever you are interested in. It has a cool "suggestion" feature that will allow you to be lazy and not type in the whole word.

You have 3 different sections in which you can choose to get your info. There is the Featured section, the Following section and then Categories. All are pretty self explanatory. Also, you can search for subjects or headlines that you do not see readily available. If you hit the button at the bottom that says, "More" you will be able to share the app with friends that are in your contact list and then keep track of what you have shared with them. Pretty sweet.

So how will this app make you cooler? Well, for one, it will keep you in the know with all kinds of stuff like that fact that Bill Murray hasn’t read the script for the 3rd installment of the Ghostbusters but he will because Ivan Reitman sent it to him. Or how about the fact that NASA has spotted a new planet?! DANG! They are calling it Kepler 10-b. WHAT WHAT?!?! Things you can talk about at the water cooler!

I really dig this app and I give it 4 out of 5 SnApps
